Canada's 150th Birthday

Sir John A. Macdonald was born in Scotland; when he was a boy his family immigrated to Kingston in the colony of Upper Canada.  He was the first prime minister of Canada.  He had a political career which spanned almost half a century.  Without his wit and determination, Canada would not exist today.  His efforts to join Ontario and British Columbia with a railroad forced the Americans to stay put and not bother us.  Although he was not perfect and made some controversial decisions there was no doubt that he was dedicated to Canada and wanted our country to succeed.  Our country is successful today.  Thank you Sir John A. Macdonald for your contributions.
